Alison provided us with a very detailed look at her life as a weaver & its commerciality. Having loved weaving from a very early stage, life's roads & turns meant she didn't return to her true passion until later in life, but it has proved a great success, listening to her many awards & selections for exhibitions. She described how the designed was created from pattern to fabric & although modern technology speeded up some processes the traditional loom ( or looms as Alison had more than 1) still had the ultimate role.Chelford and North Cheshire Branch of the Embroiderers Guild meet at Chelford Village Hall (SK11 9AS) at 7.30pm usually on the third Wednesday of the month. We are a lively group and have an exciting programme of speakers and workshops on all topics related to embroidery and textile arts.
